A former South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman appeared in court for an arrest warrant hearing related to his alleged involvement in former President Yoon Suk Yeol's failed 2024 martial law declaration. The special counsel accuses him of knowing the martial law was illegal and not taking appropriate action, while his defense claims he was sidelined from decision-making.
