Two more deaths due to shigellosis were reported in Kerala on June 15, 2026, bringing the total deaths to five this year. A seven-year-old boy and a 43-year-old man died from shigellosis-related infections. The health department reported 147 confirmed cases and 76 probable cases of shigellosis in the state this year.
