MDMK leader Vaiko met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay to oppose a copper smelting plant and invited him to a book launch, while NASSCOM and CTS delegations also met with the CM.

• MDMK general secretary Vaiko met with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay to present a memorandum opposing a private copper smelting plant in Thoothukudi district.
• Vaiko invited the Chief Minister to attend the release of a six-volume book on his 30 years in Parliament in New Delhi on August 4.
• Delegations from NASSCOM and Cognizant Technology Solutions also met with the Chief Minister.
