Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) plans to complete five battery energy storage systems (BESS) by October 2026, with additional projects approved to address operational challenges from solar power integration.

• Five BESS projects by KSEB will be completed by October 2026.
• Two BESS projects in Kasaragod district have capacities of 125MW/500MWh and 15MW/60MWh.
• A sixth BESS project in Brahmapuram with 250MW/500MWh capacity is approved by the Regulatory Commission.
