Meta has appointed Kunal Shah, founder of Indian fintech firm CRED, as the new leader of WhatsApp, following a $900m investment in CRED. Shah will lead WhatsApp's global operations while continuing as a shareholder in CRED, which processes 40% of India's credit card payments. Meta's investment in CRED does not grant access to customer data.
