Steeplechasers Junel Gobothia and Jessa Mae Roda won their events at the ICTSI Philippine Athletic Championship with improved times ahead of the Nagoya Asian Games.

• Gobothia won men's 3000m steeplechase in 9:08.35
• Roda won women's steeplechase in 10:38.57
• Gobothia's time improved from 9:15.39 at New Taipei City Athletics Open
