BMC urges AICHR to act on ASEAN corporate links to Myanmar Junta airstrikes (opens original article in a new tab)

The Blood Money Campaign (BMC) has urged the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) to take action against ASEAN-based companies and governments accused of facilitating the Myanmar military junta's airstrikes, which have caused significant civilian casualties and displacement.

• BMC submitted a formal letter to AICHR urging action against ASEAN-based corporate actors linked to Myanmar junta's airstrikes.
• The junta's airstrikes have resulted in 7,809 casualties and 4,496 fatalities since 2021, with over 5.3 million displaced.
• BMC calls for investigations, sanctions, and regulatory measures against companies and governments in Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia supplying the junta.
