Quebec has appointed an independent observer to monitor investigations into racism allegations against Montreal police officers, following the dismantling of a patrol unit and suspension of two officers over alleged discriminatory behavior.

• Quebec Domestic Security Minister Ian Lafrenière appointed lawyer Anne-Marie Boisvert as an independent observer to monitor investigations into racism allegations against Montreal police officers
