Canadian travel to the U.S. increased for the first time since January 2025 according to new StatsCan data, with automobile trips rising 8.1% in April 2026 while air travel declined.

• Canadian-resident return trips from the U.S. increased 1.8% in April 2026 compared to the same month last year
• Automobile trips from the U.S. to Canada rose 8.1% to 1.5 million in April 2026
