A Police Inspector was remanded for allegedly accepting a Rs. 1 million bribe to release an illegally assembled van without criminal proceedings. The suspect, Udaya Kumara, is accused of negotiating the bribe amount with a businessman, who paid an initial Rs. 100,000. The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption is continuing its investigation, including reviewing CCTV footage and telephone conversations.
