Chinese carmaker Jaecoo will introduce hybrid and electric versions of its J5 compact SUV in South Africa in August, expanding its electrified vehicle offerings.

• Jaecoo will expand its J5 SUV line-up in South Africa in August with hybrid and electric models
• The J5 SHS hybrid features a 1.5l petrol engine and hybrid system with 165kW and 295Nm output
• The J5 BEV is Jaecoo's first fully electric vehicle in South Africa with a 58.9kWh battery and 155kW motor
• Both models will offer advanced driver assistance features and high-standard equipment
