Greater Manchester residents will vote for a new mayor on 30 July using the supplementary vote system, following Andy Burnham's election as an MP.

• Residents of Greater Manchester will vote on 30 July for a new mayor following Andy Burnham's election as MP for Makerfield.
• The mayoral election must occur within 35 days of the vacancy, with candidate nominations from 26 June to 3 July and voter registration deadline on 14 July.
• The supplementary vote system will be used, allowing voters to select first and second choices, with a run-off if no candidate gets over 50% of first preference votes.
