A pub bouncer convicted of killing a father-of-three was jailed for 13 years and 10 months after repeatedly punching the victim, leading to his death.

• Dylan Maxwell, 28, was jailed for 13 years and 10 months for manslaughter after punching 25-year-old Luke Thompson twice, causing fatal injuries
• Maxwell attacked Thompson in Pontefract on 19 November 2023 during an argument with an ex-girlfriend, leading to Thompson's death 10 days later
• Judge Robin Mairs stated Maxwell left Thompson on the road after the attack, where he was run over, highlighting the malice of the assault
• Maxwell fled the scene using a false name but was arrested and charged in May 2025
