Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy extended the bid deadline for smart water meters to control water use and prevent waste. The project involves replacing 300,000 mechanical meters with smart meters that automatically read consumption, reduce waste, and detect leaks. The ministry also started fiber optic cable extension projects in several residential areas.
