Three Bornean orangutans were released into the wild after rehabilitation in East Kalimantan, following rescue from being kept as pets.

• Three Bornean orangutans were released into the Gunung Batu Mesangat Protected Forest in East Kalimantan.
• Orangutans underwent rehabilitation for two to six years, including survival skill training and a four-month pre-release adaptation period.
• The release was conducted by the Forestry Ministry with collaboration from BKSDA, KPHP, and COP, following rescue from being kept as pets.
